Ana is in it for the long hall with Jackson, she just wishes that he would trust her enough to let her into his world. The secrets are hurting them and while initially they said they were in this crazy journey together, as Jackson's involvement increases, all she can do is hold on and try to remind him that he is more than his plot. Review: Salvation and Secrets

Image
Salvation and Secrets by L.A. Cotton My rating: 0 of 5 stars Starting from the last book, Ana has had a hard summer to deal with Jackson's decision of breaking off their relationship. "It had faded some over the summer, the pink puckered skin turning a lighter shade, but it was still obvious. A constant reminder tattooed on my wrist. And now the bracelet was another reminder of what I had lost. " Ana is back to just getting through each day. Avoiding Jackson was going to be hard. But she had to keep moving, if she let herself breakdown any more, there would be nothing left. Every time he ignores her presence, pretends they were nothing, a little bit more of her breaks. She's doing everything she can to hold herself together. But her friends are worried, she's shutting everyone out and falling into old harmful habits "I wanted to run. Instead, I dug my nails into the scar on my wrist. The pain sliced through me, but I breath...

Review: Loyalty and Lies

Loyalty and Lies by L.A. Cotton My rating: 4 of 5 stars I connected greatly with Ana. She's flawed and imperfect. She's suffering from depression and it's something that she has to constantly battle and work through. While many people don't understand that mental tug of war, L.A. Cotton writes true to the perspective. As clips of Ana's past come to light, you fall more into the story and bond with her. I wish there was more filler in between the month gap her or there which would have set this book over the top in my mind. I just wanted a little more of them building a connection. I'm looking forward to continuing her story in the next book! *** Ana has been managing to just exist for the last 16 months. Everyone is left in her life is telling her it's time to move on, so in attempts to create a new start, she moves across the country to attend Chastity Falls Academy. She's along way from home and is hoping to burry th...

Review: Wicked Beginnings

Image
Wicked Beginnings by L.A. Cotton My rating: 5 of 5 stars I loved the story line!!! This was my first L.A. Cotton book and I'm glad I read it. I AM DYING TO READ BOOK TWO!!! (I've already pre-ordered!) This book is not a cliff hanger but there's so much more to the story leaving you wondering. There is so much tension ready to break through and drama oozing out of the pages. With everything Lo has had to deal with, I felt connected to her heartbreak and need to self destruct. She fights her natural reaction to turn back to bad habits, but as a reader you can understand and relate to her. She's dealing with the trauma one day at a time and really can't look beyond the next day when it comes to her future. She's a relatable character with vulnerability, feisty attitude refusing to be anything but herself (not needing to be in the spotlight, wearing what she wants without caring who judges her), and her unapologetic imperfections ...

Review: Move the Stars

Image
Move the Stars by Jessica Hawkins My rating: 4 of 5 stars It's been four years since she had to stand by and watch the love of her life marry her sister. Starting over on the opposite side of the country sounded like the best and only option for Lake. Now graduated from college, she's estranged from her family, the path she took completely different from her life long plan is under way and full of excitement and many trials and tribulations. She'd hope that after so much time, Manning's sudden New York visit wouldn't have an impact on her at all; she couldn't be more wrong. Manning may be married to Tiffany, but he's only been in love with one woman, and he finally has the chance to see her now that his parole is up and can travel for his father in laws company. They're both older; Manning may be married, but he can't resist Lake any longer. He has 5 days while on a business trip to convince Lake that they can have...

Review: Taken by the Dom: A Light BDSM Bad Boy Romance

Image
Taken by the Dom: A Light BDSM Bad Boy Romance by Cassandra Dee My rating: 4 of 5 stars Minnie is sent to a reform school for the simple fact that her dad can't stand that she not only looks exactly like her mom (who cheated on him and abandoned both of them) but is also interested in pursuing the same career as a beautician. Her Dad wasn't always so aggressive and cruel, but the more she grew to be a women, the more her dad seemed to resent her. She can't fight his decision to send her to Forest Hills Academy. But as soon as she meets Headmaster Thorn, she's all too happy to follow his command. Greyson Thorn is the definition of an alpha male. He's strict yet caring, and he can't help his one of a kind attraction to Minnie. He's had subs before, but none compare to the innocent yet tempting curvy 18 year old. He's never crossed the line before with a sub, let alone with a student. But he can't help the magnetic pu...

Review: Cocky Client

Image
Cocky Client by Whitney G. My rating: 4 of 5 stars Sexy witty push and pull between two headstrong characters. ***** Penelope has been working hard over the last six years to build up her PR firm. It may be small, but it's her everything and she's proud of it. When her asshole of a cheating EX continues to poach her clients, a friend convinces her to enjoy herself for just one night out. Little did she know that the cocky arrogant sexy man she'd meet would giver her the best sex of her life over a one night stand. But that all goes to hell when the rich client that is going to help turn her small business into a huge success turns out to be Ryan Dalton, the guy from her one night stand. Ryan is the CEO of a billion dollar company. He may be successful, but his CFO/Brother and the company board can only take so much of his bad attitude and damaging PR antics. He's gone through dozens of PR companies in the area and needs a new one that...

Review: Player

Image
Player by Natalie Rios My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book has me wanting to dance around singing Rita Ora's Your Song. (Then add some SoMo and Beyonce into the playlist). The sexy fun banter is really entertaining. I just had to devour the book from start to finish. This was my first Natalie Rios book, and not only will this be added to my fav books list, but I'm getting ready to crack open another one her books just to feed my new addiction to her writing style. I wish this was a series so I could get more of Theo and Allie! The multi-perspective (which was written equally well on both sides) allowed me to understand both of them better and made me feel more connected to each of them as the story progressed. ***** Theo Montgomery is the cocky charming quarterback that has all the girls at Carlton University drooling. The biggest player on and off the field, Theo doesn't have to do anything for women to throw themselves at him. Promising f...

Review: Waiting for Tuesday: Suspicious Hearts Book Two

Image
Waiting for Tuesday: Suspicious Hearts Book Two by Taylor Sullivan My rating: 5 of 5 stars I liked getting to know John! He has a lot of back story and way more to him them what you see in Home To You. (PS I was grateful to have glimpses of Jake and Katie! I loved their story and was glad to get a couple snips of them in this one) He's strong minded and his generally light demeanor balances the stress that Tuesday constantly puts out. Their meet cute was fun and their instant switch from flirtatious glances to arguing was interesting to read. It wasn't what I was expecting after reading about her one night stand, I figured they would let the attraction win out. But it made it all the more interesting later on. You got to see them unfold more before they let the physical attraction take over. Made it more relatable rather than the insta love. I liked Tuesday's drive to be an entrepreneur and she was a person all her own. Her background did...

Home to You by Taylor Sullivan My rating: 5 of 5 stars So this is what rock bottom feels like... she thought she experienced it before but she was wrong. After discovering her boyfriend of over two years has been cheating on her, Katie has had enough. When hard times came, they always had each other's back. But when their world was shaken three years ago, the two parted ways and focused on their careers. With no one else to turn to, she moves in with Jake who has become successful over the last couple of years. Review: The Boy I Hate

Image
The Boy I Hate by Taylor Sullivan My rating: 5 of 5 stars Samantha and Renee have been best friends for a long time, sharing everything, including hating Renee's older brother Tristan. (AKA The star athlete with a cocky attitude and the ability to charm girls out of their panties) He was irresistible, except to Samantha, which really bonded the two friends. Until one summer night may have changed Sam's perspective when Tristan showed her a different side of himself. She couldn't help but be charmed... until the next day comes and he acts like nothing happened. It's been years since she's had to deal with Tristan, but with Renee getting married across the country, the pair find themselves on a shared road trip after her high school sweetheart bails last minute. While the plan is to avoid each other as much as possible, the two eventually have to face the one secret Sam has kept from Renee, Tristan was her first kiss. He was always ...

Review: Fumbled Hearts

Image
Fumbled Hearts by Meagan Brandy My rating: 5 of 5 stars Kalani has had to face more tragedy than any 18 year old should have to. Moving next door to her Aunt, Uncle and cousin Mia was an attempt to convince her family she's doing okay. Spending her senior year in Alrick Falls won't be so bad, she just needs to keep herself guarded and get through each day; just one year and then she can leave it all behind. Walking home from a party, Kalani meets Nick while he's in a compromising position. Deciding to be a good person, she steps into help him while drunk. Little did she know that Nick was going to insert himself into her life whether or not she wanted him to. The star quarterback is used to getting what he wants. Girls are expendable and he's used to shallow relationships where people use him for his promising future. So when Kalani tells him she's not interested, he feels out of his element. Kalani isn't falling for Nick'...

Review: Naughty Boss

Naughty Boss by Whitney G. My rating: 4 of 5 stars Fun hot quick read! Michael Leighton is Mya's demanding asshole boss. While he was known for being a bad boy CEO, he has to shape up to better the company's image. Mya has been working for him for the past year and his high standards and lack of appreciation are driving her to look for a new job. But to her surprise, Michael has been tough on her for a reason. The sexual tension between the two is apparent, but while Michael struggles not to cross the professional line, he can't help it show when he receives one of Mya's private emails.... **** "He suddenly grabbed me by my ankles and pulled me closer to the edge of the desk, quickly positioning both of my legs over his shoulders. Review: Thirty Day Boyfriend

Image
Thirty Day Boyfriend by Whitney G. My rating: 4 of 5 stars Emily has worked for the Wolf of Wall Street for the past two years and Nicholas takes way to much pride in his nickname. Nicholas is demanding, rude and unfortunately, incredibly attractive. While there always seemed to be a special tension sparking between the two, Nicholas' attitude always allowed for the two to remain professional. But while Emily is looking to break her work contract and go elsewhere, The Wolf is needing help from the only woman who can handle him long enough to convince other's he's not the player he is made out to be, but the family man an investor is looking for. When it comes to the multi-billion dollar contract up for grabs, Nicholas is willing to break Emily's work agreement early if she signs on to be his fake fiancé for 30 days. 30 days, for the right price, can't be too bad if it means she can end her contract early... or so Emily thinks. Aft...

Review: Sincerely, Carter

Image
Sincerely, Carter by Whitney G. My rating: 5 of 5 stars SO FUCKING CUTE... I JUST CAN'T!!! I love the background and the letters brought you back memories of the past in the best way. **** Arizona and Carter have been best friends, and only best friends, since elementary school. They've been there for each other threw it all... outlasting other friendships, relationships and locations. But something is happening. One second they are best friends and the next, they are seeing each other in a different light. A drunken night's decision is showing them that maybe they could be best friends and have sex? But they have to be careful not to cross the lines. They both know it's just a temporary fix since Ari is going off to culinary school. So why is it that the lines seem to be blurring even more? It doesn't feel like just sex... it feels like it could be love... Justin Bieber Feat Bloodpop - Friends Kygo - Stargazing ft. Justin Jesso C...

Dirty Doctor by Whitney G. My rating: 4 of 5 stars Super quick read. The two have been talking via a matchmaking site. Neither interested in chancing the chemistry they have online to meet in person. Natalie is starting her new job at a private practice, which is not what her goal. But she's determined to make the best of it. Until she realizes the cocky doctor she has been sexting and talking to online is her new boss. Dr. Garrett Ashton isn't happy to find that Dr. Natalie Madison was the women who he had been talking to and whom stood him up. Their sexual attraction is magnetic and Garrett is ready to give her his own kind of exam, and Natalie is all to interested in being on the patient table. “And on a scale of one to ten?” I glanced at my reflection in the bathroom mirror, adjusting the top of my dress one last time. “What is he?” “He’s a goddamn fifty,” “We’ll need to meet here for a follow-up within the next forty-eight hours. Review: Norma Jean

Image
Norma Jean by Amanda Heath My rating: 4 of 5 stars I liked the story line more in this one than the last. The characters I felt were more relatable in their attraction and connection. It wasn't instant love, it was revenge and fighting to keep feelings aside before Norma gives in. Norma Jean became the school freak after Chance, her former crush, made fun of her appearance. After relentlessly being made fun of, she changed. She couldn't look in the mirror and instead of crumbling, she steeled herself off the the world. While babysitting Chance's little sister one night, Chance steels a kiss from her while drunk. Chance knew he was wrong to bully Norma years ago. He was in a lot of his own pain and took it out on the easiest target. Little did he know that he actually developed feelings for her and wanted to change her opinion of him. While Chance takes this kiss as an opportunity to get forgiveness and make up for all the horrible things ...
