Review: Ryan's Bed

Image
Ryan's Bed by Tijan My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow... just WOW! I've always been a fan of Tijan's books. The way she is able to almost instantly connect you with the characters, the witty banter often a key component is always endearing, and she knows how to spice it up or throw curve balls. But... Ryan's Bed is different. Yes, you instantly get sucked into the storyline and emotionally connect with the characters. Yes, there is still that sexy fun banter and heated moments. But... it's also so much more on an emotional level. I was trying not to ugly cry ... during the first chapter... while I was at the gym. (Yeah... that was unexpected). I definitely had my ugly cries ... and I don't even mind. It was worth it to read this one! The first couple of pages, I noticed something was off with the wording, but I thought it was just me. Breakaway: A friends to lovers romance by Heather M. Orgeron My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book kept popping up as a suggestion and I was hesitant to read it at first. I LOVED the idea of it based on the synopsis, but I was almost afraid that it wasn't going to meet my expectations... I'm only disappointed in myself for taking this long to actually read it!!!! There were parts that I couldn't help an eye roll... when simple solution of ju...

Review: Wicked Beginnings

Wicked Beginnings by L.A. Cotton My rating: 5 of 5 stars I loved the story line!!! This was my first L.A. Cotton book and I'm glad I read it. I AM DYING TO READ BOOK TWO!!! (I've already pre-ordered!) This book is not a cliff hanger but there's so much more to the story leaving you wondering. There is so much tension ready to break through and drama oozing out of the pages. With everything Lo has had to deal with, I felt connected to her heartbreak and need to self destruct. She fights her natural reaction to turn back to bad habits, but as a reader you can understand and relate to her. She's dealing with the trauma one day at a time and really can't look beyond the next day when it comes to her future. She's a relatable character with vulnerability, feisty attitude refusing to be anything but herself (not needing to be in the spotlight, wearing what she wants without caring who judges her), and her unapologetic imperfections ...
