Review: Player

Player Player by Natalie Rios
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book has me wanting to dance around singing Rita Ora's Your Song. (Then add some SoMo and Beyonce into the playlist). The sexy fun banter is really entertaining. I just had to devour the book from start to finish.

This was my first Natalie Rios book, and not only will this be added to my fav books list, but I'm getting ready to crack open another one her books just to feed my new addiction to her writing style. I wish this was a series so I could get more of Theo and Allie! The multi-perspective (which was written equally well on both sides) allowed me to understand both of them better and made me feel more connected to each of them as the story progressed.

****

Theo Montgomery is the cocky charming quarterback that has all the girls at Carlton University drooling. The biggest player on and off the field, Theo doesn't have to do anything for women to throw themselves at him. Promising future in the NFL, they all want a piece of him, except Allie.

Allie has hated Theo since high school. Thankfully she was able to avoid him throughout college, until they both happen to be class partners senior year. He hasn't changed, he's still full of himself and gets everything handed to him. But all of a sudden he's everywhere. Class, the library, even the a party or two which is a rare occasion for her busy schedule. She's used to having to work hard for everything. She needed to stay focused, get the grades, make enough to cover the rent and have enough left over for med school applications. So Theo being around all the time, is becoming a major distraction. No matter how snarky or sharp of tongue, it seems to just entice him more.

Allie is a feisty thing with a witty mouth and dirty mind so it doesn't take Theo long to realize she could be the one women worth changing his ways for. He's never had to work for a women's attention, and Allie is putting him through the ringer. But when the bet gets put into place, the once aggressive banter becomes a fun sexual tension that neither understands. They each thought they knew the other but over the past couple of weeks, they are seeing each other in a new light. They are getting closer but what happens after the time is up and the bet is over? Allie can't help but think about whether their new found friendship will hold up and she's reluctant to believe the spark set off by one kiss could mean anything more to a guy like Theo.
Theo on the other hand is willing to do whatever it takes to prove her wrong.
