It's been four years since she had to stand by and watch the love of her life marry her sister. Starting over on the opposite side of the country sounded like the best and only option for Lake. Now graduated from college, she's estranged from her family, the path she took completely different from her life long plan is under way and full of excitement and many trials and tribulations.
She'd hope that after so much time, Manning's sudden New York visit wouldn't have an impact on her at all; she couldn't be more wrong.
Manning may be married to Tiffany, but he's only been in love with one woman, and he finally has the chance to see her now that his parole is up and can travel for his father in laws company.
They're both older; Manning may be married, but he can't resist Lake any longer.
He has 5 days while on a business trip to convince Lake that they can have the life the dreamed of, but they have to be willing to hurt the ones they love to get there.
When they finally start seeing the stars shinning in their favor, a bomb drops and changes everything once again.
As much as they want to, they can't move the stars; maybe they were never meant to be after all.

Four Years Later by Emma Doherty My rating: 5 of 5 stars I didn't realize how many times my heart could break when reading a book until I read this one. I felt Becca's pain throughout and although I wished I could have pushed her in a different direction, her path was an accurate depiction of what someone in her shoes would face. Becca and Ryan couldn't be more in love. She may not know what future she wanted exactly, but she knew that as long as she had Ryan, everything would be okay.
