Review: Tribulation and Truths

Tribulation and Truths Tribulation and Truths by L.A. Cotton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ana is second guessing her choice to tell Jackson what she discovered about his father. Jackson has taken over Chastity Falls now that Braiden is out of the picture. His new job has created new tension in their relationship; There are more lies and secrets then ever before. But Jackson is on a revenge mission and is unwilling to stop until he has both the truth and retaliation against "Uncle Marcus". Juggling his junior year, Marcus and the new responsibilities, the football team and Ana, is slowly breaking apart his sanity. "all I’d witnessed was Jackson get pulled further and further into their world. The Donohue’s world. A world I wanted nothing to do with. A world that threatened to tear us apart."
Ana is in it for the long hall with Jackson, she just wishes that he would trust her enough to let her into his world. The secrets are hurting them and while initially they said they were in this crazy journey together, as Jackson's involvement increases, all she can do is hold on and try to remind him that he is more than his plot. He's loosing himself and Ana is starting to feel like they are in a constant pit of quicksand. The more they fight to keep it together, the farther down they sink.
Getting to the bottom of his Father's death is consuming him, he just hopes that his plan, although dangerous, will give them a chance to not only get the truths that are plaguing him, but a chance at freedom and forever with Ana. "I would be the Trojan horse in the Donohue family. Only with each passing day—every job, every meeting—I moved no closer to my goal. And I lost a little bit more of my soul in the process." The more he works for the family, the deeper he realizes the connection goes and he might be in over his head.
"“Why do I feel like you’re saying goodbye? We’re in this together remember? I’m right here.” Jackson leaned in, pressing his lips to mine, and tears rolled down my cheeks. My heart knew something my head wasn’t ready to acknowledge."
